Supply of sand and gravel for filtration
The scope of this reference is the supply of filtration media. The flow rate stated describes the plant in which they are installed.

The project

Putatan 2 Water Treatment Plant is located in Muntinlupa and treats water from Laguna de Bay to produce drinking water. The plant began with 100,000 m³/day and was expanded to a final capacity of 150,000 m³/day.

KEIKEN supplied silica sand and support gravel for the filtration stages. The grading of both materials helps distribute flow, retain solids and support the bed with head losses compatible with operation and backwashing.

The facility was inaugurated in 2019 and its expansion strengthened Maynilad’s supply to more than a million people. ACCIONA’s involvement in the project and the expansion is publicly documented.
