Our contribution
Solar PV and EV charge point in one project
The scope covers the PV installation and, as a second order, the charge point: charger, dynamic load balancer, protection panel, cable routing, permitting and the MOVES Plan grant application.
The project
The house uses 24,482 kWh a year, and the electric car’s consumption came on top of that. Charging it from the grid at night would have turned the PV savings into an expense on another line of the bill.
The PV installation comprises 24 modules on the tiled roof, with a 10 kW three-phase inverter and one optimiser per panel. It generates 21,007 kWh a year and covers 86% of the household’s consumption.
The charge point is a 22 kW three-phase charger with a Type 2 connector, dynamic load balancing and a direct link to the inverter, so it can charge the vehicle using surplus solar energy only instead of drawing from the grid. KEIKEN installed the protection panel and cable routing and handled permitting and the MOVES Plan application.
Energy Efficiency line
We install EV charge points for homes, residential communities and businesses, with permitting and grant applications included.
