Supply of pumice as a filtration medium
The scope of this reference is the supply of filtration media. The flow rate stated describes the plant in which they are installed.

The project

Al Ghubrah II IWP is a reverse osmosis desalination facility located in Muscat. With an official capacity of 191,000 m³/day, the project was developed to strengthen the drinking water supply for the Omani capital and its metropolitan area.

KEIKEN’s reference covers the supply of pumice as a filtration medium. Its low density and porous structure allow it to be used in multimedia configurations that require good bed distribution and progressive retention of solids.

The plant reached commercial operation in February 2016. The project was delivered by the WABAG-Cadagua-Galfar consortium for Muscat City Desalination Company.
