Our contribution

Supply of granular activated carbon
The scope of this reference is the supply of filtration media. The flow rate stated describes the plant in which they are installed.

The project

The Poblacion Water Treatment Plant, located in Muntinlupa, produces up to 150,000 m³/day of drinking water from Laguna Lake. The facility was designed to treat a complex surface water source and strengthen supply security for the western area of Metro Manila.

Its treatment scheme combines dissolved air flotation, advanced filtration, biological processes, membranes and disinfection. Within this scheme, KEIKEN supplied granular activated carbon as a polishing medium to support the control of organic compounds and taste and odour parameters.

The plant was inaugurated in December 2023 and received the Water Project of the Year 2024 award. KEIKEN’s historical records identify ACCIONA as the client for the supply, within a project operated by Maynilad.
