Our contribution
Engineering, installation, permitting and grant applications
The scope covers engineering and validation, roof mounting structure, hybrid inverter with backup and battery, electrical installation in compliance with the Spanish Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation (REBT), permitting and documentation for grants.
The project
In a home, generating energy during the day solves half the equation: the other half is the night, when much household consumption takes place and the sun is no longer working. Without storage, that surplus is exported to the grid at a price that does not offset the cost of buying it back later.
The installation comprises 26 modules of 550 W with one optimiser per panel and a 10 kW hybrid inverter with backup function. The inverter is connected to a 23 kWh battery, an unusual size for a home, which covers the full night-time consumption rather than just the first few hours.
The installation generates 21,651 kWh a year. The inverter backup also keeps the house supplied when the grid goes down. KEIKEN handled the engineering, the electrical installation in compliance with the Spanish Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation (REBT), permitting and grant applications.
