Our contribution
Engineering, installation, permitting and grant applications
The scope covers engineering and validation, mounting structure on a slate roof, electrical installation in compliance with the Spanish Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation (REBT), permitting and inspection by the regional industry authority, and documentation for grants.
The project
A mountain home has solar radiation in its favour and its surroundings against it: tall trees all around and a slate gable roof that forces the modules to be spread over roof faces with different orientations.
The installation comprises 16 modules of 550 W on the roof, with a 10 kW three-phase inverter and one power optimiser per panel. On a roof shaded by trees whose shadows move throughout the day and the year, individual optimisation is what prevents a few shaded modules from penalising the whole string.
The installation generates 14,145 kWh a year. KEIKEN handled the engineering, mounting on slate (a roof that demands care with fixing and waterproofing), permitting and grant applications.
