The scope of this reference is the supply of filtration media. The flow rate stated describes the plant in which they are installed.

The project

This reference covers a dedicated filtration media package for the filters of the Cuevas del Almanzora complex. The 60,000 m³/day capacity corresponds to the Bajo Almanzora desalination plant with which the supply is associated, and should not be counted as a second, independent plant.

KEIKEN supplied manganese dioxide for integration into the filters. Selecting a catalytic medium requires coordinating water quality, filtration rate, bed depth, head loss and the backwash protocol to achieve stable operation.
