Our contribution
Engineering, supply, installation and permitting
The scope covers the charger, the dynamic load balancer, the protection panel, cable routing, commissioning, permitting and the MOVES Plan grant application.
The project
Charging an electric vehicle at home seems simple until you look at the contracted power: if the charger draws full load while the oven and the heat pump are running, the main switch trips. The charge point has to coexist with the rest of the installation, not compete with it.
A 7.4 kW single-phase 32 A charging station was installed, with a Type 2 connector, a fixed 7.5 m cable, IP66 outdoor protection and OCPP connectivity for remote management and consumption monitoring.
The key to the installation is the dynamic load balancer: it measures household consumption in real time and adjusts the charging current so as not to exceed the contracted power, charging faster when the house is using little. The work was completed with a dedicated protection panel, cable routing, permitting of the installation and the MOVES Plan grant application.
Energy Efficiency line
We install EV charge points for homes, residential communities and businesses, with permitting and grant applications included.
