They are seen as the alternative energies of the future, able to replace current energy sources because they pollute less and are renewable.<\/p>\n<p>Renewable energies include hydro, wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, wave and ocean thermal energy, biomass and biofuels.<\/p>\n<p>In Spain there is still some way to go before renewable sources can compete with oil, natural gas or nuclear power.
